Public Education and Involvement

PICT0149_smTRA's Clean Rivers Program provides support for locally organized stream cleanups, citizen monitoring, and educational activities throughout the basin, and volunteer monitoring is supported via funding of the Texas Stream Team program.  This volunteer group is organized and monitored by a CRP-funded Texas Stream Team Coordinator, who also conducts training classes and gives educational presentations.  Major stream cleanups sponsored during recent years include the following:

  • Walker County Proud
  • Trinity River Environmental Education Society
  • Navarro County Cleanup

Sponsored educational activities have included the following:

  • River Legacy Foundation
  • Texas Stream Team Volunteer Monitoring
