TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY WATER MAIN BREAK REPAIRS PROGRESS

(ARLINGTON, TEXAS) – Repairs on two breaks in a 33-inch Trinity River Authority water main are still in progress. The 38-year-old water main supplies treated water to the cities of North Richland Hills and Colleyville.

The pipe failures are attributed to pipe age and corrosion that led to deterioration in these sections of the pipe. The repair involves welding new sections of pipe in place.

Before the water line can be returned to service, the water main must be disinfected and flushed. That part of the process will take 6-8 hours.

Full service should be restored by Sunday morning, July 1.
