Wolf Creek Park Photo Contest

All visitors at TRA's Wolf Creek Park are invited to participate in a new photo contest for 2024! 

Three seasonal photo contests (spring, summer, and fall) will be held with winners chosen from each season to receive fun prizes, followed by voting for a grand prize winner at the end of the year. Take your best pictures at Wolf Creek Park during the appropriate season and then enter your pictures below! See the full set of rules at the bottom of the page.


Submit up to five photos by August 31, 2024 to be entered in the Summer Photo Contest! Make sure to fill out the entry form, read the rules, and agree to the terms of the contest.

Sample WCP Photo 1You are limited to five photos for each seasonal contest and may participate in every seasonal contest. Photos must be taken and submitted within the timeframe of each seasonal contest. TRA judges will select up to five winners from each contest period to receive prizes and recognition. These winners will then be included as entries in the voting for an overall grand prize winner for the year, which will be chosen via popular vote.

Spring Photo Contest: March 1 - May 31.
The Summer Contest: June 1 – Aug. 31.
The Fall Photo Contest: Sept. 1 – Nov. 30.

Seasonal winners will receive:
  • A day-use pass to Wolf Creek Park
  • Five postcards featuring their photo
  • A TRA-branded reusable water bottle
  • A framed 8.5” x 11” print of their photo

The annual grand prize winner will receive:
  • An annual pass for 2025 to Wolf Creek Park valued at $75
  • Camping equipment ($50 value)
  • A TRA branded frisbee


  • All photo entries must be taken at TRA’s Wolf Creek Park 
  • All entries must be taken and uploaded to the “Wolf Creek Park Photo Contest” contest page, within each seasonal contest period.  Photos taken before the opening date or submitted after the closing date of each seasonal contest period will not be accepted.
    • The Spring Contest Period is March 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024 (11:59 PM CST)
    • The Summer Contest Period is June 1, 2024, to August 21, 2024 (11:59 PM CST)
    • The Fall Contest Period is September 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024 (11:59 PM CST)
  • You must have the consent of those whose faces are visible in the image.
  • Each participant may enter up to five (5) photos during each seasonal contest period.

  • You must be 18 years old or older to participate in the contest. Photos taken by those under the age of 18 can be submitted by their parents or legal guardians on their behalf.
  • Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA) photo contests are open to all participants so long as the rules and conditions of the contest are followed. You are allowed to participate in every contest period even if you are selected as a winner in a previous one.
  • Entries must be submitted via the official contest form. No other entries will be accepted. Contest forms must be fully completed. If the photo upload tool does not work, the entrant may submit a completed entry form except for the photo upload and email their name and photo to TRA Outreach at naylorcr@trinityra.org.

  • There will be up to five winners (depending on the volume of entries) of each seasonal contest period selected by a panel of TRA judges (See “Judging Criteria for Winning Photos”)
  • Each seasonal winner will receive:
    • A day-use pass to Wolf Creek Park (to be used in 2024 or 2025, subject to park capacity and day-use hours) valued at $5
    • Five postcards featuring their photo
    • A TRA-branded reusable water bottle
    • A framed 8.5” x 11” print of their photo
    • The inclusion of their photo as an entry in the voting for the overall grand prize winner
  • There will be one overall contest grand prize winner selected through the following process:
    • The winning photos from each seasonal contest period will be put forward for a public vote. The photo that receives the most votes will be named the grand prize winner.
    • The voting method and time frame will be announced on the TRA website and via TRA/ Wolf Creek Park social media.
  • The person whose photo wins the most votes will receive:
    • An Annual Pass to Wolf Creek Park (for March- November 2025) valued at $75
    • A TRA branded frisbee
    • Camping equipment at $50

Judging Criteria for Winning Photos and Conditions for Winners   

  • TRA staff will choose winning photos from each of the seasonal contest periods that illustrate positive experiences at Wolf Creek Park and/or the beauty the park. Judging will be based on composition, creativity, originality, and overall impression. Winners will be announced on the TRA website and via TRA and Wolf Creek Park social media. 
  • Judging for the overall grand prize winner will be determined by public vote choosing a winning photo from the winners of the seasonal contests.
  • TRA retains the sole discretion over the selection of, and the decision not to select, any particular entry as a winner. TRA shall determine the winner's eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by judges are final.  
  • Winners will be contacted via email. Winners will be required to respond to TRA via email within 7 days or an alternate winner will be selected.  
  • TRA may require a higher-quality resolution or original unedited copy of the winning photograph(s) via email. If a suitable resolution is not available, an alternate winner may be selected.  

Rights to Photos   

  • You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit -- including ownership if applicable. By entering the Wolf Creek Park photo contest, you grant TRA a nonexclusive right and royalty free license, in perpetuity, to:  
    1. Publish the images for TRA purposes in any format, including on TRA’s website, social media accounts and in TRA’s publications or presentations, such as but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, magazine issues, fundraising appeals, public service announcements, grant proposals, reports, awards, thank-you cards, postcards, displays, mailings and invitations. 
    2. Use, in connection with the Photo Contest and Wolf Creek Park, your name, city, state, and country of residence in promotions and other publications.  
    3. Keep the files provided and archive the images on disk or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.  
    4. As conditions of this permission, TRA shall credit all photographs with the caption “© Person's Name”.

Other Terms and Conditions   

  • All photographs must be your own work, and you must own the right to distribute the image.  
  • Photo consent is required for all people whose faces are visible in your photo(s). Upon request, you may be required to provide a release for each individual in the photograph.  Consent to be photographed must include agreement to the terms of the contest and the possible uses of the photo outlined in these conditions.
  • All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single High Dynamic Range (HDR) image are acceptable. Images that do not meet these requirements may or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.   
  • TRA reserves the right to refuse photographs that contain nudity, violent or offensive material, or trademarked or copyrighted images. 
  • TRA is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries or technical errors or difficulties.  
  • TRA reserves the right to adjust contest deadlines and prizes if necessary.  
  • By entering, participants thereby release and hold harmless TRA, its employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won. Restrictions, conditions, and limitations apply.  
  • By participating in this contest, you agree to these terms, conditions, and rules.
